How much would a system cost for my home?
There are three main factors that will determine the price of a new replacement system:
• Size of the Equipment
• Efficiency
• Difficulty of Installation
Without doing a complete home analysis, none of the above can be determined.
What size of system do I need for my home? I think it is about 1600 sq ft.
There are many things that will determine the correct size for a particular home:
• Size of the outside walls: 2x4, 2x6, etc.
• R factor of the insulation in the walls, ceiling, etc.
• Direction the house faces: North, South, East, West.
• Kind of windows: single pane, double, etc.
• Exterior material: brick, wood, etc.
• Number of people that reside there.
• Your comfort ranges for heat and cooling: 74 or 68?
Without knowing these kinds of things, there is NO way to determine the EXACT size your home needs. You could have two identical houses side by side and NEED to different systems.
What is an S.E.E.R.?
S.E.E.R. stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, and measures the cooling efficiency of an air conditioner. The higher the S.E.E.R., the greater the energy efficiency, and the lower your utility bills will be.
How often should I change my furnace filter?
This can vary greatly, depending on your household and what kind of filter your systems have. We recommend at least checking the filter once a month and replacing them as needed. If in doubt, always change the filter because the cleaner the filter, the better your system will function.
Should I have my home comfort system checked annually?
Yes, this will help keep the system clean and free of debris and operating at its peak performance levels, much like having the oil changed in your automobile. |  |
